Carlo Scarpa : The Complete Buildings

This is a photographic record of a brilliant and difficult subject. Much of Scarpa's earliest work from the 1930s to final projects of the 1970s, is private, and less than accessible. All of his projects are here, including some that were not on record for, not having himself a license to practice, only to teach. it is of course the details that are the poetics and they light up each photograph. There is also a section, Materiality and Memories, of the artisans who worked with Scarpa, interviews and photos. 

This is a particular Scarpa title, loyal to being a record of all of his work. I had not seen the Base for the Monument to the Partisan Woman, Venice 1968..
