Smiljan Radić Clarke (Santiago, Chile, 1965) graduated from the School of Architecture at the Catholic University of Chile in 1989, and later studied at the Istitutto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia in Italy. In 1995 he opened his own office in Santiago, Chile .

In 2001 he was chosen as the best young architect under 35 years old by the Chilean College of Architects; in 2008 he received the Design Vanguard Award from Architectural Record; in 2009 he was named an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects, USA; in 2013, 2015 and 2018 he received the award for Best Chilean Building from Universidad Mayor, Chile; in 2015 he received the Oris Prize , Croatia; in 2018 the Teatro Bío-Bío was chosen among the best buildings within the framework of the Design Vanguard Award from Architectural Record; and in 2018 he received the Arnold W. Brunner Memorial Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, USA.

Smiljan Radić is president of the Fragile Architecture Foundation, whose objective is to promote the study and dissemination of experimental architecture or that realm of improbable realities in which the limits of architecture become blurred.

He currently lives and works in Chile, always in close collaboration with the sculptor Marcela Correa.
