SHORTY was founded in 1965 in Baden Baden, Germany, by Gerhard Worther. Worther made Shorty mechanical pencils with an endless passion and care all along. Mr. Worther, as a mechanical engineer, designed and built specific production machines. This home made innovation allowed Worther to create a unique line of products. After the original factory in Baden Baden closed down, production of Shorty pencils was moved to Milan thanks to Markin Srl, maintaining the same passion, handcraft, and upgraded machines designed by Worther.
